Chitransh Saxena

Hi, I'm Chitransh. I've been using credit cards for 20 years, and for the last 8 of them I haven't paid for a flight, a hotel, a forex markup or a service fee. That isn't luck, and it isn't a big salary. It's just knowing which card to use for what.

How it started

Like most people, I got my first card because a bank offered it, not because it suited me. I didn't read the fine print, I didn't know what half the reward points were worth, and I had no idea the card in my wallet could have been paying me back for things I was already buying.

What changed

The shift came when I stopped asking “which card is the best?” and started asking “which card is best for how I actually spend?”. A card that rewards fuel does nothing for someone who never drives. A premium travel card is wasted on someone who flies once a year. Once I matched cards to real habits, the rewards started adding up, and the fees started disappearing.

Why I write for CardBuddy

Friends and family kept asking me the same question: “Which card should I get?”. The honest answer was always “it depends on you”, and the market makes that hard to work out alone, with hundreds of cards, shifting fees and benefits buried in long documents. CardBuddy exists to fix that: a short quiz that points you to the one card that fits, a way to compare cards side by side, and a place to check a card you already own. My job is to explain it all in plain words.

How I write

Every guide here is written the way I'd explain it to a friend: what the card is really good for, who should skip it, and where the catch is. Fees and benefits change often, so please confirm the latest details on the bank's website before you apply. CardBuddy may earn a commission if you apply through some links, which helps keep the site free to use.
